WBC’s First Open House
We celebrated one year at our office located at 180 N LaSalle with +200 business & civic leaders, ecosystem partners & friends, leaders from our international communities including many Consul Generals, and WBC alumni.
The event was a strong testament to the daily economic development efforts of all who were present including our partners in the mayor’s office, consular core, non-profit profits, economic development entities and board members.

Our key performance indicator, or primary method of measuring our efforts, is through pro-Chicago decisions — companies that are making decisions to relocate here, or expand and grow existing businesses here.
These companies benefit from the city’s diverse economy and the strength of its connected business and industry.
RESILIENCY IS IN OUR DNA
The Great Chicago Fire of 1871 was a collective trauma that subsequent generations of Chicagoans hoped they would never endure.
The city was spared until the global pandemic of 2020, which brought myriad challenges. As it was 150 years ago, the road ahead is not short, or easy, or without challenges.
Just as before, the stakes are too high, the opportunity – too great, the reward – too enduring, to give anything less than the totality of our effort.
