Chicago’s bid to host the Democratic National Convention (DNC) was a success, with Chicago named as the host city for the 2024 Democratic National Convention. This tremendous win is an accomplishment for Chicago, Chicagoland and Illinois. The successful bid is a testament to Chicago’s leadership, innovation, and commitment to progress.

The economic benefits of hosting the DNC in Chicago and Illinois is projected to be significant in creating jobs, driving growth, and showcasing Chicago’s world-class hospitality and attractions. This win is also demonstrates what makes Chicago and our region special. The bid to position Chicago as the host city for the 2024 Democratic National Convention began under the administrations of Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot, Governor JB Pritzker, and Senator Tammy Duckworth.
