Our key performance indicator, or primary method of measuring our efforts, is through pro-Chicago decisions — companies that are making decisions to relocate here, or expand and grow existing businesses here.

These companies benefit from the city’s diverse economy and the strength of its connected business and industry.

The Great Chicago Fire of 1871 was a collective trauma that subsequent generations of Chicagoans hoped they would never endure.

The city was spared until the global pandemic of 2020, which brought myriad challenges. As it was 150 years ago, the road ahead is not short, or easy, or without challenges.

Just as before, the stakes are too high, the opportunity – too great, the reward – too enduring, to give anything less than the totality of our effort.
