The Black and Latino Excellence Investment Summit is a multi-phased effort designed to provide counsel, connections to support including technical assistance, and ultimately, access to capital for Black and Latino-owned small businesses on Chicago’s South and West-Sides.
This program’s first cohort of 2022 connected 11 business-owners, interested in scaling their operations, with technical assistance resources and funding opportunities. The effort is intended to accelerate the flow of capital to minority-led businesses, as access to capital is critical to growing resilient small businesses and sustaining vibrant communities.
We will recognize the inaugural class of businesses, lenders and technical assistance providers at an in-person event on June 16, celebrating this first step in moving us towards a greater collaboration anchored in inclusiveness.
In tandem with the Mayor’s Office and other key partners, World Business Chicago’s Community Impact team’s objective is to challenge the status quo, namely access to capital gap and promote equitable economic development.

The Community Impact Team supports equitable economic development across the city’s South and West-Sides. As part of that work, we actively support the implementation of the Mayor’s signature INVEST South/West initiative, which you can learn more about here.
