World Business Chicago Hosts Cannabis License Application Hackathon
Good Tree Capital Shares Support and Resources for 100 Applicants Receiving Application Fee Financing
On Sunday, December 15, Good Tree Capital, the City of Chicago and World Business Chicago held a cannabis license application hackathon. As the deadline for the cannabis application will close on January 1, 2020, the organizations want to ensure applicants have the tactical tools and resources needed to submit a complete application on time.
Good Tree Capital is an online investing and lending platform dedicated exclusively to providing small business loans to state-licensed cannabis companies. In an effort to ensure Illinois succeeds where other states have failed, Good Tree Capital has offered to finance the $2,500 non-refundable application fee for 100 Illinois social equity applicants, as well as provide them with a letter of credit for up to $250,000 in financing should they receive provisional licensing.
From 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., 18 Illinois social equity applicant teams attended the hackathon, where they received valuable feedback on the cannabis dispensary license applications.
The event was held at World Business Chicago and included on-site assistance from other industry subject matter experts committed to helping qualified social equity applicants finalize the heavily scored elements of their adult-use cannabis dispensary license applications.
