Chicago and London committed to economic partnership agreement signed in 2016
World Business Chicago hosted a technology and innovation focused business delegation at the end of September led by the CEO of London and Partners, Laura Citron. The delegation consisted of 10 technology firms who were looking to enter the US market. During their visit, the companies interacted with over 100 members of the Chicago innovation ecosystem. Andrea Zopp, WBC President & CEO presented to the delegation and hosted a roundtable with Chicago companies and Laura Citron to discuss the Chicago-London economic relationship, and ways to strengthen it over the coming year.
The delegation’s organizer, London and Partners, is the economic development and tourism agency for London. Chicago and London signed an economic partnership agreement in 2016, and since the signing of that agreement, London has been Chicago’s leading foreign investor on a city-level.
This visit comes as a follow-up to Andrea’s trip to London this summer for London Tech Week. During the during the trip, World Business Chicago met with Liveminds, a global research company providing account and participant recruitment support for their behavioral recruitment service. This October Liveminds announced Chicago as their national headquarters. This is as another example of the strong partnership Chicago enjoys with London.
