World Business Chicago Seeking Creative Firm to Lead Retail Activations

Over the next three years, WBC expects to focus on aiding industries that have been hard-hit by Covid, assist with the investment in growth industries that can bring economic recovery, support local businesses and entrepreneurs and help bring back Chicago’s Travel and Tourism sector. Programming, intended to drive investment and expansion, will center on aiding vacant storefronts and impacted commercial corridors, with a specific focus on the sectors and opportunities identified in the Chicago Recovery Task force (“RTF”): Transportation, Distribution & Logistics, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Food & Agriculture, Manufacturing, and Corporate Specialty Centers. Aggressive growth in these sectors as well as direct aid to impacted travel and tourism businesses are essential to building back the City’s economy to capture displaced workers, build a resilient economy, and return the economy to pre-pandemic levels of employment and growth.

WBC will be undertaking a series of retail activations which will include, among other things, retail pop-ups along commercial corridors and improvements to key building assets (such as facade improvements). WBC is planning one or more rotating Pop-Ups which will give businesses based in Chicago the opportunity to take up temporary tenancy in downtown Chicago and along high traffic commercial corridors. Along with providing a high traffic retail space for the business, the pop-ups will highlight how Chicago supports businesses, why Chicago is a good place to build a business and the diversity and innovation that is found within Chicago’s business community.

World Business Chicago is pleased to release the following Request for Proposals. The purpose of this RFP is to retain a qualified experiential marketing firm to lead the design and execution of marketing, set-up, staffing services, compliance and wind-up for retail activations in the City of Chicago.

Please note that all submissions are due by 5pm CST on March 22nd, 2022.

All inquiries regarding this RFP are to be sent electronically to Terrance Hall at thall@worldbusinesschicago.com and must be submitted no later than 12pm CST March 7th, 2022.
