Chicago Tribune Letter: The Chicago area is working together — and growing
Letter to the Editor, Chicago Tribune
Thank you for reporter Kathy Bergen’s article on initiatives to grow the region’s economy. It is a great reminder that the economy is regional. An investment in Joliet, Libertyville or Chicago helps all of us. An investment in one place benefits workers, construction firms, bankers, law firms and many others from everywhere.
We are competing with Los Angeles, Hong Kong, London and many other global cities; not with each other. Reporting on economic development activities as if they were sporting events with winners and losers is not helpful.
