A regional economic collaboration between Chicago and the Seven Counties.

WHO WE ARE

OUR MISSION

The Greater Chicagoland Economic Partnership (GCEP) is a first-of-its-kind regional alliance launched in 2023 to unite the City of Chicago with seven surrounding counties — Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, and Will. Together, we promote inclusive growth, attract investment, and strengthen Chicagoland’s position as a leading global metro.

Managed by World Business Chicago, the city’s public-private economic development agency, GCEP combines the region’s unparalleled assets — from world-class freight and infrastructure to diverse talent, global industries, and premier research institutions — into a single, powerful voice.

By aligning strategies, leveraging economic development resources, and telling a shared story, GCEP helps the entire region compete globally, grow equitably,
and thrive together.
