$879.9 VC Invested in Chicago in 2016

DJX VentureSource released its Q4 2016 venture capital report, which tracks investments into companies that have received at least one round of venture funding.¹ Q4 2016 VC activity in the Chicago area was lower than usual at $140.1 million invested in 23 rounds. However, increased activity from Q1 to Q3 resulted in a total of $879.9 million invested in Chicago area companies in 2016. The total number of investment rounds increased to 91 in 2016, compared to 73 in 2015.
