WHAT:
World Business Chicago (WBC), Illinois Science & Technology Coalition (ISTC) and UI LABS released a request for information from potential partners of the Manufacturing Innovation Hub (the “Hub”); a physical focal point to engage in the development and utilization of new products, technologies and manufacturing process.
The key goals for the Hub include:
- Increasing manufacturing business growth by accelerating the development and commercialization of new products through access to expertise, equipment, training, capital and customers
- Advancing Illinois’ manufacturing innovation ecosystem by connecting physical product entrepreneurs, researchers, manufacturers, training partners and investors
- Providing an entry point for manufacturers to learn about, access and test new technologies

The creation of UI LABS was driven by an understanding of the need to bring together University + Industry to research, develop and apply solutions to critical economic and industrial challenges, and to attract and retain the best and brightest, enhancing Chicago and the Midwest as a destination for talent and technology.
