Marketing Communications | UI Design Internship – Web Development and Design

Position Summary:

We are seeking a talented User Interface (UI) Design Intern to join our team, with a primary focus on web development and design. In this role, you will be at the forefront of creating a compelling digital experience for worldbusinesschicago.com, leveraging your expertise in UI design, particularly within the WordPress platform.

Responsibilities:

As the UI Design Intern, you’ll be responsible for shaping the online presence of WBC.com, emphasizing user experience and streamlined design. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Collaborating closely with the MarComm team to conceptualize and design user-friendly website flows within the WordPress framework.
• Creating high-quality mockups and prototypes using design tools such as Adobe, with a keen eye for aesthetics and functionality.
• Demonstrating a strong understanding of UI best practices and accessibility principles, ensuring a seamless user experience.
• Being adaptable and open to ideation and iteration, while effectively incorporating feedback from the team.
• Leveraging your proficiency in WordPress and experience in creating design systems to enhance the website’s visual appeal and functionality.
• Collaborating with the development team to deliver polished low code designs ready for implementation.
• Supporting the maintenance of the website’s content and ensuring it remains up to date.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in UI design.
• Proficiency in WordPress, including the ability to create and maintain design systems within the platform.
• Strong proficiency in Adobe design tools for creating mockups and prototypes.
• Familiarity with HTML/CSS or similar languages is a plus, allowing for a more holistic understanding of web development.

This is a 10-week hybrid summer internship position from June 10 – August 16, 2024, paid at $16.00 per hour with up to 29 hours per week.
