Community Impact Summer 2024 Intern

World Business Chicago (WBC) is a public-private, non-profit partnership that drives inclusive economic growth and job creation, supports business, and promotes Chicago as a leading global city.

The Community Impact (CI) team works to make sure the traditionally disinvested parts of the South & West sides of Chicago get the needed business investments that make them places that the residents have everything they need to thrive not just survive.

The CI team actively helps developers working on catalytic commercial real estate projects where there is already momentum; works to attract critical community amenities/large employers to key commercial corridors and helps build capacity of existing Black and Brown businesses to scale to serve their communities through convenings and partnerships.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Keep organized spreadsheets.
• Assist with social media.
• Write blogs and or/ research digital content on neighborhood investments in Chicago and other global cities (news, podcasts, blogs, social).
• Create flyers and social media content.
• Provide support for events when needed.
• Provide status of each project and deliverable.
• Demonstrate strategic thinking and introduce ideas on projects.

This is a 10-week hybrid summer internship position from June 10 – August 16, 2024, paid at $16.00 per hour with up to 29 hours per week.
