Boeing’s Jim McNerney, Walgreens Boots Alliance, and kCura to be honored
Chicago Sister Cities International (CSCI) and World Business Chicago (WBC) will host the annual Chicago Consular Corps Gala: A Tribute to Our Global Partners on Tuesday, December 15 at the Hilton Chicago.
This year, Jim McNerney, Chairman of The Boeing Company, will receive the Global Citizen Award, honoring an individual who has made an extraordinary contribution to Chicago’s international reputation, stature and global reach.
“Each year at the Chicago Consular Corps Gala, the diplomatic community honors a Chicagoan who has proven to be a leading example of the city’s values around the world. For 2015, we are pleased to honor Jim McNerney with the 2015 Global Citizen Award,” said Consul General Patricia Maza-Pittsford, Dean of the Chicago Consular Corps. “Through Jim’s stewardship of Boeing, the company and its people continue to make substantial and long-lasting investments in cities like Chicago where they live and work.”
WBC and CSCI selected Walgreens Boots Alliance to receive the Corporate Ambassador Award, honoring a company that has helped raise Chicago’s profile as a premier global business destination and has contributed to the economic growth of the city.
“Since 1901, Walgreens Boots Alliance has been one of Chicago’s leading corporate citizens” said Jeff Malehorn, President and CEO of World Business Chicago. “Due to their dedication to Chicago and connections they have made around the globe, World Business Chicago is proud to present Walgreens Boots Alliance with the 2015 Corporate Ambassador Award.”
In addition to honoring McNerney and Walgreens Boots Alliance, WBC and CSCI will also present the ChicagoNEXT Award to the fast-growing legal software tech company, kCura; and the International Volunteer of the Year Award to Dr. Tariq Butt, Co-Chair of the Lahore Committee of CSCI Lahore.
