Glassdoor to Open Chicago Office
Plans to create more than 250 jobs in next 3 years to support U.S. expansion
Glassdoor, a global jobs and recruiting marketplace, recently announced plans to open a Chicago office in early 2016. The company will add more than 250 jobs in Chicago over the next three years, starting with the hiring of sales and client service professionals in January.
“Chicago is an ideal market to support Glassdoor’s expansion with its central location and incredible talent pool. The support and guidance we have received from the State of Illinois, the City of Chicago and business community is extremely valuable and makes us feel very welcome,” said Robert Hohman, co-founder and CEO of Glassdoor, Inc. “I’m proud of the culture we’ve created at Glassdoor, and we’re excited to extend our footprint in Chicago and grow our team of passionate and talented people. We also look forward to becoming an integral part of Chicago’s business community and working with organizations such as World Business Chicago and Skills for Chicagoland’s Future.”
“Glassdoor’s decision to expand here is a tremendous vote of confidence in the direction of Chicago. Their expansion will provide jobs for our residents and add to the strength of our growing tech economy,” said Mayor Rahm Emanuel. “From our talent to our transportation, to our tech sector, Glassdoor sees the same opportunities to build a great future for their company that so many other businesses see in Chicago. I look forward to watching them grow and provide even more opportunities for our residents in the years ahead.”
Glassdoor is hiring Chicago-based sales executives, development representatives and account managers. Glassdoor currently employs more than 550 people and has raised approximately $160 million to date, including a $70 million round led by Google Capital and Tiger Global announced in January 2015. Glassdoor recently surpassed 10 million reviews, ratings, salary reports and other workplace insights for more than 445,000 companies around the globe.
Chicago will be Glassdoor’s fifth office worldwide. Headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area, Glassdoor has offices in London and Canton, Ohio and recently announced plans to open its European headquarters in Dublin, Ireland in early 2016.
