  • Lead the strategy for social media metrics across all platforms, tracking and analyzing data reports to meet organization Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and provide insights to the CEO and Marketing Communications team.
  • Create, implement, and maintain digital and social strategies that support the organization’s primary brand strategy, #WhyChicago, and a range of special projects, including WBC Cultural Exchange Showcases, the annual International Gala, and flagship events.

You are a good fit if you can:

  • Bring creativity and enthusiasm to your work every day.
  • Oversee daily social and digital publishing, as well as special projects, from concept to delivery.
  • Be responsible for executing a variety of internal and external deliverables, such as web, email, social media, and marketing collateral.
  • Work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop best-in-class social and digital content for multi-channel application.
  • Transform creative briefs into compelling and eye-catching social and digital media that aligns with brand guidelines and strategic business goals.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, including those with tight deadlines, in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Commit to a minimum of three days in the office.
  • Implement creative and content changes through an internal review process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency, while anticipating additional changes for final review.
  • Exercise independent judgment, confidently making business-driven choices and problem-solving.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining high-quality, accurate, and efficient interactions.
  • Represent the organization’s commitment to excellence and exhibit a passion for producing exceptional work.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and actively utilize social media platforms.
  • Comfortably attend events, meetings, and visit Chicago locations to develop content, including those occurring after hours or on weekends.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Social Media Strategist or in a similar role, with a strong track record of managing social media platforms and driving engagement.
  • Excellent knowledge of LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok, including their best practices, algorithms, and trends.
  • Proficiency in content creation tools and software, such as graphic design tools, video editing software, and social media management platforms (e.g., Sprout Social, Buffer).
  • Strong copywriting and editing skills, with the ability to create engaging and concise content tailored to different platforms and target audiences. (Note: a writing test will be administered as part of the interview process.)
  • Analytical mindset and proficiency in social media analytics tools to track performance and derive actionable insights.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders.
  • Passion for making a difference and contributing to meaningful impact in the city and Chicagoland region.

In this role, you will be at the forefront of our social media strategy, utilizing data, analytics, and your creative talents to increase awareness, create viral moments, and cement our organization’s reputation as a trusted resource for news, information, and original content, designed to drive awareness and familiarity of the business growth and economic prosperity happening throughout the Chicagoland region.
